May 24, 2017, in the context of VII Forum of professions/specialities Council for Preventing and Eliminating Discrimination and Ensuring Equality for the first time participated in the Job Market for the Young People. This event was organised on the initiative of The National Agency for Employment supported by Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Ministry of Youth and Sport and Ministry of Education, local agencies for employment.
In the condition of employee shortage, the presence of the event provided an opportunity for the Council to promote and present the offers of vacant positions.
Statistics data from Council demonstrate that during 2016 alone 37 out of 156 complaints received by CPEDEE refer to the employment discrimination. For the future employees who can be potential discrimination victims there were presented informational materials, brochures, flyers, for more people to know about their rights not to be discriminated against and being able to value themselves.
The event was participated not only as well as state institutions and private ones, which were provided with informational materials about Council activity and practical guides for employers about principles of non-discrimination in the workplace.
At the end of 2016 CPDEE edited and published the guide “Legal defense of right of education without discrimination” and due to the fact that at the Job Market participated a lot of education institutions (professional schools, colleges, education centers, universities) there was an important opportunity for distribution of these useful methodological materials.
Establishing new collaborative relations with some participants of the Market was another achieved goal but we suggest maintaining and developing such partnerships that definitely will enhance and strengthen inter-institutional cooperation.
