Launching of National Strategy of Communication for Preventing and Eliminating Discrimination in the Republic of Moldova

July 16 in Chișinău at the event was publicly presented new national Strategy of Communication for Preventing Discrimination and Ensuring Equality. There also was discussed topic of creating Consulting Council along with Council for Preventing and Eliminating Discrimination and Ensuring Equality. Mrs. Eva GUTJAR, Deputy Director of Council of Europe Office from Chișinău, Mr. Vladimir ŢURCAN, President of Parliament’s Commission for human rights and interethnic relations, Mr. Mindaugas KACERAUSKIS, Political consultant of Delegation of the European Union to Moldova Republic and Mr. Ian FELDMAN, President of Council for Preventing and Eliminating Discrimination and Ensuring Equality presented and greeted participations at the event opening.

Consulting Council represents an open multilateral platform that includes civil society, alliances, academic environment and members of central and local public administration. This agency will function in voluntarily form, its principal role being supporting, consulting and assisting CPEDEE in monitoring of relevant legislation implementation. Within the framework of there were introduced the best European practices and methods of this agency work and in the same time were presented the best possible solutions in the Republic of Moldova context.

The other important initiative by public politics adapted for Republic of Moldova is the national Strategy of Communication for Preventing and Eliminating Discrimination and Ensuring Equality. The Strategy is addressed to international organizations community, sponsors, state institutions, activists and other interested, which are involved in preventing discrimination and ensuring equality.

The event was organized within the joint program of European Union – European Council „Promotion of national efforts in preventing and eliminating discrimination in Moldova” which is part of Pragmatic Cooperation for Eastern Partnership 2015-2017. The project is sponsored by EU (90%), co-sponsored (10%) and implemented by European Council.
